第１　目　標
　表現及び鑑賞の活動を通して，つくりだす喜びを味わうようにするとともに造形的な創造活動の基礎的な能力を育て，豊かな情操を養う。

第２　各学年の目標及び内容

〔第１学年及び第２学年〕
１　目　標

(1)　表したいこと，つくりたいものを自分の表現方法でつくりだす喜びを味わうようにする。
(2)　材料をもとにした造形活動を楽しみ，豊かな発想をするなどして，体全体の感覚や技能などを働かせるようにする。
(3)　かいたり，つくったりしたものなどを見ることに関心をもち，その楽しさを味わうようにする。

２　内　容
　Ａ　表　現

(1)　材料をもとにして，楽しい造形活動をするようにする。

ア　身近な自然物や人工の材料の形や色などに関心をもち，体全体の感覚を働かせて，思い付いたことを楽しく表すこと。
イ　土，木，紙など扱いやすい材料を使い，それらを並べる，つなぐ，積むなど体全体を働かせて造形遊びをすること。

(2)　感じたことや想像したことなどを絵や立体に表したり，つくりたいものをつくったりするようにする。

ア　表したいことを進んで見付け，好きな色を選んだり，いろいろな形をつくって楽しんだり，つくり方を考えるなどしながら思いのままに表すこと。
イ　表したいことに合わせて，粘土，厚紙，クレヨン，パス，はさみ，
のり，簡単な小刀類などの身近な材料や扱いやすい用具を手を働かせて使い，絵や立体に表したり，つくりたいものをつくったりすること。

　Ｂ　鑑　賞

(1)　かいたり，つくったりしたものを見ることに関心をもつようにする。

ア　自分たちの作品の形や色，表し方の面白さなどに気付くなどして，見ることに関心をもつようにすること。
イ　身近な材料に触れ，その感じについて話したり，友人の作品の表したかった気持ちを聞いたりするなどして楽しく見ること。

〔第３学年及び第４学年〕
１　目　標

(1)　豊かな発想や創造的な技能などを働かせ，その体験を深めることに関心をもつとともに，進んで表現する態度を育てるようにする。
(2)　材料などから豊かな発想をし，手や体全体を十分に働かせ，表し方を工夫し，つくりだす能力，デザインの能力，創造的な工作の能力を伸ばすようにする。
(3)　自分たちの作品や身近にある作品，材料のよさや美しさなどに関心をもって見るとともに，それらに対する感覚などを高めるようにする。

２　内　容
　Ａ　表　現

(1)　材料や場所をもとにして，楽しい造形活動をするようにする。

ア　材料や場所，ものをつくった経験から発想したり，みんなで話し合って考えたりして楽しく表すこと。
イ　木切れなどの材料や場所の特徴をもとに，組み合わせる，切ってつなぐ，形を変えてつくるなど工夫し，新しい形をつくるとともに，その形から発想してつくりだす造形遊びをすること。

(2)　見たこと，感じたこと，想像したことを絵や立体に表したり，つくりたいものをつくったりするようにする。

ア　表したいことを表すために，形や色，材料などを生かし，それらの組合せの感じに関心をもち，美しさや用途などを考え，計画を立てるなど工夫して表すこと。
イ　表したいことに合わせて，前学年までに経験した材料や用具，板材などの特性を生かすとともに，手を十分に働かせて水彩絵の具，小刀，使いやすいのこぎりなどの用具を工夫して使い，絵や立体に表したり，
つくりたいものをつくったりすること。

　Ｂ　鑑　賞

(1)　作品などのよさや面白さなどに関心をもって見るようにする。

ア　自分たちの作品のよさや面白さなどについていろいろな表し方や材料による感じの違いなどが分かり，関心をもって見ること。
イ　親しみのある美術作品や製作の過程などのよさや面白さなどについて，感じたことや思ったことを話し合うなどしながら見ること。

〔第５学年及び第６学年〕
１　目　標

(1)　造形的な能力を働かせるとともに，自らつくりだす喜びを味わい，様々な表し方や見方に触れ，創造的に表現する態度を育てるようにする。
(2)　材料などの特徴をとらえ，想像力を働かせて主題の表し方を構想するとともに，美しさなどを考え，創造表現の能力，デザインや創造的な工作の能力を高めるようにする。
(3)　作品などを進んで鑑賞し，そのよさや美しさなどを感じ取り，感性を高めるとともに，それらを大切にするようにする。

２　内　容
　Ａ　表　現

(1)　材料や場所などの特徴をもとに工夫して，楽しい造形活動をするようにする。

ア　材料や場所などの特徴をもとに発想し，よさや美しさなどを考え，想像力や創造的な技能などを総合的に働かせて楽しく表現すること。
イ　材料や場所などに進んでかかわり合い，それらをもとに構成したり，つくるものと周囲の様子を考え合わせて表したりしながら造形遊びをすること。

(2)　見たこと，感じたこと，想像したこと，伝え合いたいことを絵や立体に表現したり，工作に表したりするようにする。

ア　表したいことを表すために，形や色，材料の特徴や構成の美しさなどの感じ，つくるものの用途などを考えるとともに，表し方を構想し計画して，創造的な技能などを生かして表現すること。
イ　表したいことに合わせて，前学年までに経験した材料や用具，自分が選んだ材料，糸のこぎりなどの特徴を生かして使い，表現に適した方法などを組み合わせながら，絵や立体に表現したり，工作に表したりす
ること。

　Ｂ　鑑　賞

(1)　作品などを鑑賞し，それらのよさや美しさに親しむようにする。

ア　自分たちの作品や表し方の変化などに関心をもって見るとともに，表現の意図や特徴をとらえ，見方や感じ方を深めるようにすること。
イ　我が国や諸外国の親しみのある美術，暮らしの中の作品などのよさや美しさ，表現の意図などに関心をもって鑑賞すること。

第３　指導計画の作成と各学年にわたる内容の取扱い

　１　指導計画の作成に当たっては，次の事項に配慮するものとする。

(1)　第２の各学年の内容については，児童の実態などを考慮し，２学年まとめた内容について最初の学年において，学習活動の程度が高くならないように
すること。
(2)　第２の各学年の内容の「Ａ表現」の(2)の指導に配当する授業時数については，つくりたいものをつくることや工作に表すことの内容に配当する授業時数が，絵や立体に表す内容に配当する授業時数とおよそ等しくなるように計画すること。
(3)　第２の各学年の内容の「Ｂ鑑賞」の指導については，「Ａ表現」との関連を図るようにすること。ただし，児童や学校の実態に応じて，指導の効果を高めるため必要がある場合には，独立して行うようにすること。
(4)　第２の各学年の内容の「Ａ表現」の指導については，適宜共同してつくりだす活動を取り上げるようにすること。
(5)　低学年においては，生活科などとの関連を図り，指導の効果を高めるようにすること。

　２　第２の内容の取扱いについては，次の事項に配慮するものとする。

(1)　個々の児童が特性を生かした表現活動ができるようにするため，題材等に幅をもたせるとともに，児童が自分に適した表現方法などを選ぶことができるようにすること。
(2)　各学年の「Ａ表現」の(2)については，児童や学校の実態に応じて，児童が工夫して楽しめる程度の版に表す経験やつくったものを焼成する経験ができるようにすること。
(3)　各学年の内容に示す材料や用具については，必要に応じて，当該学年より前の学年において初歩的な形で取り上げたり，その後の学年で繰り返し取り上げたりして，児童が適切な扱いに慣れるようにすること。
(4)　各学年の内容に示す材料については，地域の身近にある材料などを取り上げるようにすること。
(5)　事故防止に留意すること。
(6)　各学年の「Ｂ鑑賞」の指導に当たっては，児童や学校の実態に応じて，地域の美術館などを利用すること。

　３　校内の適切な場所に作品を展示するなどし，平素の学校生活においてそれを鑑賞できるよう配慮するものとする。

Article 7 Art Education
I. Teaching Goal
Through art expression and art appreciation activities, art education can enable students to experience the joy of making art; develop a fundamental creative ability to form art; and cultivate and instill an aesthetic attitude to appreciate art.

II. Teaching Objective and Content

1st and 2nd Grade Levels
A) Objective
1. Allow each student to experience the joy of making art which reflects their choice of subject content, style, and expression.
2. Encourage the student to use total body senses and his/her abilities to make art that is rich with new ideas.
3. Enable the student to enjoy working with the art materials provided.
4. Teach the student to find interest and enjoyment in viewing his/her class art projects .

B) Class Content
Expression
1. Based on a planned set of art materials and medium, present enjoyable art projects.
* Encourage children to hold an interest in both natural materials found in their close surroundings and man made materials. While observing the color and shapes of these materials, allow them to portray their responses using their total bodily senses.
* The art projects will emphasize enjoyable play in which the child will use total body senses. Students will utilize art material of paper, wood, and clay which can be easily used to connect, stack, and line up.
* The art projects will give each student a chance to freely express through making and creating what they feel and imagine in pictures and artistic forms and shapes.
* The class will be encouraged to seek and discover what they want to express. Then while thinking how to make their conceived art forms, students will be allowed to choose their own colors, and make desired shapes according to their interests.
* Students will work with various mediums, art tools, and materials which can be easily handled at their age level. Crayons, pastels, scissors, glue, and paper cutter, clay, and construction paper/poster board/cardboard will be used for depicting pictures and forms which reflect their ideas.

Art Appreciation
1. Encourage students to hold an interest in their created art projects.
* Help them to see the interesting aspects of shape, color, and expression in their own individual art pieces.
* Guide students as they work to interact and exchange views about each others art projects, as well as voice their individual feelings on their own art pieces.

3rd and 4th Grade Levels
A) Objective
1. Encourage children to use creative thought and technique. Help students to desire to further develop their ability and expression.
2. Give students materials that will stimulate them to create new ideas. Challenge them to fully use their minds, senses, and hands to be productive and to create new ideas, expression and design.
3. Teach the children to gain an ability to recognize the quality and aesthetic characteristics of the art materials that they use in their own art works as well as observe in other art pieces.

B) Class Content
Expression
1. Present enjoyable art projects that require consideration of materials and the placement or arrangement of those materials.
* Encourage children to make new ideas utilizing their past art experience of working and handling the set art materials. Also allow opportunity to cultivate stimulating class discussion and interaction on class art projects.
* Concerning wood art/craft projects, encourage creative art play which requires thought to the characteristics of the wood, cutting of pieces, and arrangement. Let students create new ideas through experimenting with changing shapes and making new shapes.

2. The art projects which consist of depicting pictures and creating art forms, should give students an opportunity to make and create what they see, feel and imagine.
* Encourage students in inventing their art expression to carefully consider shape, color, and materials. Help them to gain an interest in the arrangement of forms. Let them consider use and purpose, along with aesthetics of the art piece.
* Encourage students to draw from and use their previous art experiences with various materials and tools to guide them as they work on their present art projects. Let the students work in new ways with watercolors and easy to use small cutting tools to make desired pictures and artistically shaped forms.

Art Appreciation
1. Encourage students to be able to discover the quality and interesting aspects of various art pieces.
* In looking at their own works, help the students to recognize the many differences in artistic expression and the diverse effects of using particular materials.
* Allow children to discuss their feelings and impressions on the interesting aspects and special qualities that they see in familiar art works and art technique processes.

5th and 6th Grade Levels
A) Objective
1. To draw out from each student a desire to creatively express. Help children develop their artistic ability, encourage them to create their own ideas, and give them exposure to various artistic views and styles.
2. Teach students to understand the characteristics and qualities of art materials; allow them to work using their imaginations to portray themes; and give them opportunities to develop a sense of aesthetics, creative expression artistic design and construction.
3. Help students to gain an increasing sensitivity for artistic appreciation and aesthetics.

B) Class content
Expression
1. Present art projects which will encourage enjoyable artistic work that requires consideration of material, composition, and arrangement.
* Encourage students to create new ideas using imagination and creative technique while considering the qualities of the materials and the placement or arrangement of those materials.
* Help students to consider the relationship of materials and placement of those materials in composition and the relationship of the actual created art piece with the existing surroundings.
2. Guide students to construct and make pictures and art forms in which they can express what they see, feel, and imagine. Through the medium of their art, encourage them to communicate their thoughts.
* In making an individual artistic expression, students will be encouraged to consider shape, color, art material characteristics, aesthetic composition, and the use of the art piece, itself. They will be allowed to plan out how they can artistically construct and utilize creative technique in their expression.
* Students will be encouraged to utilize their previous experience and knowledge of art tools, materials, and technique to help them work on present art projects. They must then make careful consideration of the choice of materials, types of tools and proper technique for their artistic expression in depicting pictures and artistic forms and shapes.

Art Appreciation
1. In gaining a general appreciation for art, help students to sense a familiarity with aesthetics and quality of art.
* Help the student to find in his/her own art piece the uniqueness of expression, so that he/she may deepen their art sensitivities and artistic view point.
* Encourage the student to appreciate and value the quality, aesthetic beauty and aim of expression of the art of Japan as well as well known art of other countries.

Consideration taken when drawing up the teaching guide plan and class content

1. Concerning teaching objective and content, careful consideration will be taken of the individual students actual ability level. The art teaching process will start with a difficulty level that is appropriate for the beginning 1st Grade and then build upon that foundation throughout the following grades.
2. The amount of class hours will be balanced between giving appropriate time for students to consider how to creatively interact and work with the art materials as well as give them time to work out what they want to create.
3. Ideally, art appreciation instruction will be taught in connection with art expression, however, cases will exist where the two curriculums will be separately handled due to the unique conditions of school and classrooms.
4. All art projects will address the issue of creative expression.
5. For the 1st and 2nd Grade levels, art instruction will be taught in conjunction with class instruction on nature, everyday life and play.

Specific class curriculum considerations
1. In order to give each student an opportunity to fully develop their own artistic ability and style, the art projects will hold themes and subject matter with a wide range of possibilities and choice.
2. Obviously the various art experiences and expression will depend and vary according to the different school facilities, classroom and students.
3. Certain art material, tools and art technique will be introduced over a period of more than one year. Students will learn in a process. First fundamental basics of an art technique will be introduced. Then in the subsequent years, students will be reintroduced to that art process to build upon the foundation and move on to higher levels and greater steps of complexity.
4. Materials found in local surroundings may be used for art projects.
5. Class room safety and prevention of accidents will be a priority.
6. Depending on the school and the chosen class curriculum, city and local art museums may be visited for art appreciation instruction.
7. Throughout the year, consideration will be given for student art works to be exhibited in the school.
