gKill Billh seen from Japanese eyes
Japan & Asia in gKill Bill Vol.1 h latest directed by Quentin Tarantino.
When I saw the credit for Kinji Fukasaku, I had become a goo feeling for
it,
Of course I am no connection with Fukasaku, but as one of Japanese,
it was a good feeling because he loves Japanese movies.
Because it is made by Tarantino! This can be an enjoyable move per say.
Especially Uma Thurmanfs revenge fight can be fascinating.
His way of editing, shuffling the tense is as his usual method.
The reason whey Trantinofs film is so interesting is that its structure,
its story and characters that he has created.
In addition to those factors, this time, several staff was from Japan,
Hong Kong and China and they did very good jobs.
Especially, Mr. Yohei Tanetafs set design was so beautiful.
I was so shocked at the sequence of the fighting of
The Bride and O-Ren Ishii at huge Aoba-ya and dynamism of its actions.
I was moved the visually beautiful of bloody sequence by
Robert Richardsonfs camera that was shot form the high position.
As this has divided by two movies, its feeling give something difference.
We could not see Bill (title roll) though it would be many in Vol.2.
I could enjoy the battle between Brid and O-Ren, however,
pace would be wrong for Sophiefs had has cut off.
This might be leave as it was after defeating O-Ren to Vol.2.
It was screened at Piccadilly 1 where there were full of audience.
It was expected reaction with laugh because Trantino is
an American and we could easy find out several mistakes for Japan and Japanese.
This is due to the difference of nationality.
Tarantino directed this movie.
He had tried to add the feeling of Japanese Samurai movie or
Hong Kongfs Kun-fu movie.
This was not remake but his original movie adopting these factors.
However, I felt strange that Uma Thurman use Japanese sword with one hand.
You can see that it is too heavy to use Japanese sword with one hand.
Japanese sword is quite different form light sever or saver for fencing.
I am very sorry but I am a Japanese and that is common sense for Japanese.
Full audience shows applause after the movie.
This proves that this movie is very enjoyable movie anyway.
Misunderstanding might also be culture.
My judgment = šššššš1/2iFull=š~10j
